A Little Curtain

The notebook paper started to wear on me a bit.  I couldn't find a curtain to buy to fit this small front door window, so I had to break down and make one.

I got a sewing machine for Christmas from my husband's family, but have only used it once.  Sewing has always scared me.  I thought a tiny curtain project would be a good start.

The scariest part was getting the machine and thread ready to go (instruction manuals=ick).  I realized that sewing itself is pretty fun, and would be something I can envision loving with some practice.

...and finally, we have a curtain made out of fabric instead of paper!

Mission accomplished.

  1. Good job!! It scared me too, but I finally did it! I've got more fabric for more curtains. Just need to work up my courage again. :-)

  2. Thanks :D
I know how you feel. If the machine was easily ready to go with no problems, I think it would seem less intimidating. You curtains are really pretty in Ava's room.

  3. Oh! Where did you get those 2 small rods? I have the exact same window, and can't seem to find any rods that are small enough.

    1. That is a great question! I know it was either walmart, Lowes, or Home Depot. I wish I could remember! I am thinking it was most likely one of the home improvement stores instead of walmart. I need to go get another one, because my sister has a small window that she needs a curtain for, too. Let me know if you don't find it. I'll try to keep you posted when I get another rod to let you know where I re-find it. :)
